We tailor the training program to your needs and provide you with a trainer who comes from your target country. For example, from China, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Africa, the USA, England, or Scotland. Our team members come from these countries, and we use English as our common language of communication in our day-to-day business. This puts us in an ideal position to answer the questions you would be reluctant to ask your foreign business partners.
Why is this so important in today's business world?
Simply put:
Cultural conflicts are the main reason why international companies return to operating within their own national borders or find it very difficult to tap into their target market outside their home country. We can help your team with first-hand information to avoid these cultural conflicts in the new environment in which it does business.
Based on your individual needs, we select one of our cultural experts who knows and understands the people with whom you and your company do business, whether in person, virtually, or in other ways.
We take a three-step approach to intercultural awareness and understanding.
Phase 1 – Consists of a meeting and a welcome with someone outside your business contacts, but who shares the same cultural background. During this phase, you will have the opportunity to ask all the uncomfortable questions you may have, but don't dare to ask your business partners.
Phase 2 – Review the dos and don'ts of informal and formal encounters, with a focus on the don'ts in business, but of course without neglecting the dos. The most important tool in this phase is role-playing between your team and the trainer.
Phase 3 – By repeating, repeating, and repeating phases 1 and 2, the training is rounded off into a bundle of intercultural knowledge and self-confidence, spiced up with basic phrases in the target language to break the ice with your business partners. Of course, as in every phase, there is a question and answer session where you can express your concerns and fears.
The goal of this training is to help your company build a team of interculturally competent employees who are aware of the importance of understanding the culture of the people your company does business with, in order to bridge the cultural divide and create mutual understanding and respect among all parties involved.
The Redmond Consultants team is a culturally diverse group; we speak more than 14 different languages and have lived and worked in all parts of our global world.
This makes us ideally positioned to support your team—we understand intercultural communication because we live and breathe it!
